What we capture, analyse, and deliver

You give us the handles. Everything below is Competition Monitoring, on the accounts you name, and it happens without you connecting an account or installing anything.

01 / capture

What comes from the account

01

Posts, daily

Feed images, carousels and reels, with the caption, the posting time and the full media file. Not a thumbnail and not a link, the actual file, pulled down and stored the moment it is seen.

02

Stories, several times a day

The format that disappears. Launches, offers and events often run as stories, and a story is gone from Instagram after 24 hours. We check several times a day, catch each one before it expires and keep it, media included, after it is gone.

03

Engagement as a curve, not a number

Every post is re-measured twice a day for two weeks, so you see how a post actually accumulated its likes and comments. A post reaches about 98% of its final like count by day fourteen, which is why the window stops there.

04

Restricted-but-public profiles

Accounts that hide themselves from logged-out visitors, which is common in age-gated categories, are still reachable. Public data only, and never a private account.

05

Followers, day by day

Every watched account's follower count is recorded each day, so growth over a day, a week and a month sits next to what they posted to earn it.

02 / what we add to it

Analysis, insights and the raw media

06

Sorted into your categories

Each post and story is placed in one of your categories (campaign, collaboration, product launch, for example), so sorting and filtering a whole field of competitors takes one click. The categories are written for your market and can be changed between periods.

07

Described, post by post

What the picture or video actually shows is written down and stored with each post: the products, the setting, who appears and what they are doing, frame by frame for a video. Kept side by side over a period, those descriptions show the patterns: what a competitor keeps coming back to, and what is new.

08

Around 40 data points on every item

Pulled out of each post and story, so the archive can be queried and not only browsed:

09

Top performers, against their typical post

Each account's strongest post of the period is measured against that account's own typical post, so a lead shows up as a multiple you can quote and a big account's ordinary week does not pass for a hit. Accounts are then ranked by how far their best post beat their norm.

10

Written up, not just counted

Every period becomes a written report, not a sheet of numbers:

  • Per accountWhat it did in each of your categories, in plain language
  • What's newThe biggest launch or change of each competitor
  • CampaignsEvery campaign, launch and contest across the field, side by side
  • RankingsAccounts ranked by their best post against their own norm
  • Period summaryMost active, most stories, the heaviest in each category
  • What to watchWhat is already announced or teased for the next period

Sources picked for your market

Hand-picked accounts from your market and the industries next to it, each with a reason it is on the list.

--

Hooks and engagement mechanics

For every post worth your time: the opening line or frame that stops the scroll, and the mechanic that earned the response, a giveaway, a poll, a collaboration, a question in the caption.

--

Captions in your language

Sources from other markets arrive translated, so a good idea from Vienna or Budapest is not lost to the language it was posted in.

--

Signals, not a trend list

High performers picked out against their own account's median, each with a note on why it worked and how it could look for your brand.
